Songs in the Key of Grace

It Is Well With My Soul

It Is Well With My Soul

I arranged this song in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic. Writing this song was my therapy. It was my reminder that no matter what happens, it is well with my soul. “All things work together for good to them that love God” (Romans 8:28).

I created several versions of this song: An extended choir version, an extended duet version, and a 4-part GTTC version which means, “Don’t bore us, get to the chorus.” This is a version that emphasizes the mighty chorus of this song.

Lyrics

When peace like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll,
Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say.
It is well, it is well, with my soul,
Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come.
Let this blest assurance control.
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul,
My sin is nailed to the cross, not in part but the whole.
Praise the Lord for I bear it no more.
Praise the Lord it is well with my soul.
It is well (it is well),
With my soul (with my soul),
It is well, it is well with my soul,
